How to place a limit order

How do I place a limit order on Lovely Legends?

Open the Trade tab, choose your market, and select the Limit tab in the order form. Choose Buy or Sell, type the price you want and the amount, and check the Total the form calculates. Tap the Buy or Sell button to place it. The order rests on the order book until the market reaches your price — it may fill later, fill partly, or never fill.

What a limit order does

A limit order sets your price. As the app itself puts it: a limit order rests on the book until the market reaches your price. You control what you pay, but not whether you trade — if the market never reaches your price, the order simply stays open until you cancel it.

Place a limit order, step by step

  1. Open the Trade tab and pick a market

Open Trade from the bottom tab bar. Tap the market name at the top to switch market if you need a different pair.

The Trade screen with the market selector in the header.
  2. Select Limit

In the order form, choose the "Limit" tab rather than "Market".

  3. Choose Buy or Sell

Pick the side. The form shows your "Available" balance for that side — quote currency for a buy, base currency for a sell.

  4. Enter your price

Type the price you want, in the quote currency. Tapping a price in the order book fills this field for you, which is quicker and avoids typos.

  5. Enter the amount

Type how much of the base asset to trade, or use the percentage shortcuts to size from your available balance. The form shows the resulting "Total".

  6. Check the total, then place the order

Read the Total before you tap. For a buy, the trading fee is charged on top of the total, so you need slightly more quote currency than the total shown — which is why the maximum the form will let you size to is a little below your raw balance. Tap the Buy or Sell button to place the order.

  7. Watch it in Open orders

The order appears under "Open orders" with its price, amount and how much has filled. It stays there until it fills completely or you cancel it.

Note

If your limit price is far from the current market price, the app may warn you before placing, or refuse it outright. See the price band article for why.

Changing an order

An open order cannot be amended in place. Using Edit cancels the existing order and places a new one, which means it loses its position in the queue at that price. The app tells you this before you confirm.
